3. Become a Chapter Volunteer

There are always ways to help out in Edmonton.  We run several events every year, and they couldn’t happen without our amazing volunteers.  Some things we are always looking for help with:

Our annual gala fundraiser– Lend us a hand. From advertising and event planning, to ticket sales and silent auctions, there are positions small and large.

Our annual Run to End Poverty – Start a corporate team at your workplace, join our chapter team, or help with organization.

Become an EWB contact at your workplace – Pass on information about EWB events, invite us for a Lunch and Learn presentation.

Become a member of the chapter executive – Help run the day-to-day operations of our chapter or get involved in planning EWB’s national programs.

Join our Outreach team – Help prepare and present Lunch and Learn presentations, make connections with other organizations and make corporate contacts.

Something else? –Share your talents – if we’re missing something that you’ve got, contact us at edmonton@ewb.ca and let us know how we can use your talents!

There are two types of overseas volunteer programs you may be interested in: Professional Fellow and African Program Staff.

Typical annual timeline for a professional fellow:

Mid-January: Call for applications
Mid-February: Applications close

Late February: Interviews
Early March: Selection
March to July: Foundation training in your spare time
